Get Started

When you sign up with HighSchoolPortfolios.com, you will receive a user name (your email address) and password that is unique to you. Both your portfolio and your contact information are secured and private, available only to authorized users.

After you have signed up and received your password, just go back to the home page and click on the "Already a Member" link. Enter your user name and password and you will be able to use all of the special features of HighSchoolPortfolios.com.

Show Your Best Work

You can build and change your portfolio over the full year of your subscription so that you will always have your most recent and best work available for viewing. What's more, all art school faculty and administrators using the HighSchoolPortfolios.com system will be able to search and review your work. This means that art school personnel can recruit promising students. HighSchoolPortfolios.com can change the way you find art school programs and the way they find you.

Our system allows schools to contact you via a proprietary email link on your portfolio page while maintaining your privacy. If you are not interested in a school, no reply is necessary. Your portfolio can contain up to 20 images of your best pieces. Don't worry about not having all your work done when you subscribe. You can log in and add images as often as you like.

With our proprietary system, Portfolio Builder(sm), we have made it easy to select an image on your computer, give the image a title, describe the medium or process used, and indicate when the art was created. Just click "Save" and your portfolio is automatically updated. The "Help" item in the portfolio menu will provide useful suggestions on how to scan your work or shoot it with a digital camera. Guidelines for file size and dimensions are also included.

If you change your mind about some of the work that you have posted, it's easy to update or delete an image or change the image title and description.

Make Portfolio Days More Productive

With more and more students attending Portfolio Days, it is becoming increasingly difficult to interact with more than a handful of potential applicants. Nothing can replace the effectiveness of meeting candidates in person - so our site is designed to make such meetings much more fruitful. Admissions officers and faculty who use HighSchoolPortfolios.com can identify students of interest and preview portfolios in advance of Portfolio Day events. High school students who use HighSchoolPortfolios.com can contact any school directly to let them know which portfolio day they will be attending. Our website helps to insure that your investment in portfolio day yields results.

Easily Update Your Information

If you need to alter your address, change your school, choose a different password, or select a different intended major, it's simple to do.

It's Time To Show Your Work

When you're ready to show your portfolio to the school(s) of your choice, our system makes it easy. The Portfolio Drop Off Center(sm) is a simple process. Our system allows you to show your work to any school in our system. We currently have over 20 top art schools and colleges in our system. Each school has their own Portfolio Drop Box that allows them to look at your work.Though each school will continue to require every prospective student to send official applications directly to them, HighSchoolPortfolios.com allows the school to easily view your work prior to the traditional application arriving.

You can come back to the Portfolio Drop Off Center at anytime and as often as you like to make additional submissions. Whether you have revised your portfolio or you want to add more schools to your list, just return to the Portfolio Drop Off Center and show your portfolio to the schools of your choice.

When you select the Submission Log menu button you can review the list of schools to which you have shown your portfolio and also see when a school has viewed your portfolio.
